I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

will b20 block work?

Post by lilcappone69 » October 01, 2005

i will soon be graduating from high school. i am class of 2006. since i know my mom cant really afford an expensive graduation present like she would want to i just asked her to get me my first car. im hoping to get a 91 si hatch or a 91 4-door dx or a 90-93 tegra. as far as the hatch and 4-door go i was wondering if a gsr head will fit on a b-20 block. never really heard of this build up around here in the bronx new york so i would really apreciate any helpful information. and as far as the 90-93 tegra i really dont know what i would like to do to it yet but n e suggestions will be very helpful. thank u all. :?

yes a gsr head will fit on a b-20 block...with a little adjustment. But that is the normal setup for a 2.0 liter honda.

wouldnt a b16 Head be better than a gsr Head. I thought B16 heads Flow alot smoother. then when ur ready mabe a cam swap, even though that b20 block will already give it torque out the ass, but why stop where u start?

BTW-try to get the 88-89 si hatch, same shit except the 90-91's come with door mounted seatbelts which add hella weight.
89 was a good year.

depends, the GSR head would yield higher compression due to its smaller combustion chambers, you could always port the GSR head and maybe give it a mild polish (i dont recommend polishing in general).

I would get a b16 head. then more after market intakemani's and what not are available plus you dont need to worry about secondary intake runners and such plus the b16 head is the same as a type r. so if you plan on a head job later you can build your own type r head If it is compression you want then you can always mill your head or run a thinner gasket or get flat faced valves when you go to do that head build kekeke

i dont recommend milling or using thinner gaskets, i only recommend raising compression by pistons
