I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
'the roof rack' trend?
'the roof rack' trend?
anyone notice the roof rack trending popping up more and more?
im really sick of seeing more and more cars with yack racks with nothing on them? then to top it off im starting to see more and more roof racks on cars with like a 1980's/90's dyno bike or an old ass GT. wtf? why? the bikes are impractical and they look really stupid as a 'roof ornament'
i dont care if you stap down your board or toss up a bike, but put something on the roof you are going to use, not just a trendy accessory.
maybe im just being a dick, i just cant see people still rocking these fucking 1980 dynos.

Re: 'the roof rack' trend?
^^ exactly theres a few 4 doors around here with them and you never see anything on them
Re: 'the roof rack' trend?
I bought my Thule in 1999 because I was sick of shoving it in the hatch of my new car. Plus trunk racks always bent the bumper and pulled on the hatch/trunk with three bikes on. Bent the trunk on my Cavalier after all of the road trips.
Fuck the trend. See also: Function. They probably can't even ride either.

Re: 'the roof rack' trend?
^ probably can't that's why I like my canondale it folds up and fits in my trunk
Re: 'the roof rack' trend?
What if those old bikes were the car owner's first vehicle they modded?
Don't lie to yourself, this is hot.
Ooooooooh, get mad! Stay mad!

druxboyz wrote:Started out with some Q7 clips from ebay. 35 bucks for 4, shipped.took off my stripping thing and measured the distance to cut. I ended up having a 1inch width. I'd reccomend slightly larger than 1in. Maybe 1.1-1.2inches
I put electrical tape to avoid scratches while test fitting.
My tools to cut
and bend
and here's the 4 clips, all cut and bent.

There is a bugeye wrx rollin around here slammed on te37's with a roofrack. It looks really good, I guess it depends on if he actually uses the rack or not.
Re: 'the roof rack' trend?
i can understand if its used for something. but if its just to achieve a look then i dont like that shit at all. for gods sake if the season is over for that stuff take the damn thing off too.
I drive a Honda シビック クーペ
