I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Maybe it's because I'm high right now and not thinking clearly; but why would any kind of boost leak not allow the engine to rev it past 2k in 2nd gear? Shouldn't the engine still rev higher, but a lot slower (like a N/A 9:1 compression[or whatever they are} car)? I would think it'd be something with the drivetrain/transmission rather than a boost leak.

Is it only in 2nd gear? Are you having any other driveability issues (hard to get it into gear maybe)?

:stupid:

The rush of air like your blowoff would most commonly be a boost leak somewhere.

Does it build boost in all gears? Any more info for us?

Problem has been solved. I appreciate the input. There was indeed a hole in my intercooler piping. I just had it all replaced with hard pipe. It's been doing great in that aspect.

I now find myself in another problem.

My friend was driving it, and the way he explained it, he shifted into third, and heard a "popping" noise.

I went to start it up and the car would die immediately. Buddy of mine thought it was the plugs, so I went to Wal-Mart picked up some plugs and threw them in. It starts up fine now, and idles fine as well, but the second I depress the accelerator, the car shuts off immediately.

Any insight?

Thanks

I'm not too far from disagreeing with you...however, I would like to get to the solution to this. Its an overall decent car, great shape, just old crap starting to fall apart on it.

Any insight whatsoever?

sounds liek something maf or map related...i dont kno anything about dsm. but if there was a boost leak it might have fucked up ur air metering. dunno, im most likely wrong, but im taking a logical guess.

Would it have anything to do with me washing/waxing the car right before this happened?
