I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

kids, a burnout is less stressful than a run at the dragstrip or a dyno pull on every part you've mentioned here, save the tires. how could it be more stressful than full perormance from your car? the load is not there. if you watch closely when i downshift from 4th to 3rd the first time, you'll hear my rpms drop (they fell to about 2000). now watch how quickly the engine runs from 2000 rpm back up to nearly 8000. the rpm rises much quicker than it would have had the engine been accelerating the vehicle. why? cuz it requires less force to spin the tires than it does to run it hard. less force = less stress. that's less stress on my wheel bearings, axles, engine... the tires take it all. a shift while spinning the tires is smooth; the chassis doesn't absorb it. that shock is not relayed to the components either. your entire car would be much happier sitting still on ice spinning the tires at 20 mph than hauling itself around on pavement at the same speed.. the engine would last longer too... you just have to keep cool. now if you've ever raced your car think about what you're crying about when you cringe at a burnout. is it smoke in your eyes?
