I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Ok, sfc, what is your point? Maintaining a nice finish is expensive, we get it.

I already made my point, if your'e going to get an engine, do it first. The "looks" part is a continual pit. An engine is far less of a "continual project". It's pretty easy to say "I want 300hp, I'm going to do it with ____ setup". You buy the setup, you're done. Vs what with visuals? From what I can see on here, the guys going for all JDM impulse buy any hard to find part they can, resulting in continual setbacks on any other work on the car. Just my observation after 2 years here ;-)

To each his own, I guess I'd just rather have fun driving the car. I can make it look better when I'm done with the go-fast :) Hence no purchases outside of general maintenance as I save up for my turbo kit :) There's a million and one visuals I'd like to change/upgrade but they definitely are a far backseat to the turbo.

Some people go about their cars in different ways. Some do looks first, some go for the balls. Whatever, man.

I personally like a car to look good, but I'm not meticulous. I'd rather have balls.

Trust me, sfc, I'm right there with you about wanting to have fun driving the car. Just take a look at my Miata; faded paint, cracked rear garnish, but also a spec miata suspension. And it will continue to be that way until I can afford to maintain a nice finish. Jon has the means to make his car look good, and I won't hold it against him.

I'm not holding it against him, I just keep hearing all this talk of engine, and I'm making the suggestion that maybe now is the time to just pull the trigger and do it. Goldy will be allright with a dent for a couple extra months :) Besides, if the jeans company takes off he can just replace it with CF body panels :p

SFC, i'd guess that 90% of the people here are more concerned about looks than go. And Jon just happens to fit into that group. theJDM is about JDM styling, aka, cosmetics, I don't think your going to convince jon to 'forget' a huge ass dent in his quarter panel, to put a motor in because you want him to...
