I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Carbon Fiber Crap

Post by munster » March 15, 2004

With my income tax return I'm going to pick up a carbon hood and carbon duckbill since my oem hood is chipped something fierce and I have a knockoff ctr wing that sucks ass.

Anyways, I was wondering what everyone is running and what's recommended. I have been looking at ViS, Seibon (which is made by vis), and FiberImages. The only thing with FiberImages is that they don't make the wing too. I want to go with the same company so that I'm sure the weave will match up.

My main concern is the fitment. I hate gaps. I don't want a 1 1/2" gap on one side of the hood and 3/4" on the other.

Whatever you do, don't go with jdmshit.com

FI is supposed to be real good.

Ya i have heard nothing but good things from Fiber images. But the weave pattern might be different like you said.

Seibon and ViS, even though they are pretty much the same, are the only companies that I know of that make both the hood and wing. Besides Spoon, of course, and I'm not paying $1000 for a hood.

Is the weave really any different between FI and VIS? I usually only ever see three types.

I was wondering the same thing. Is one browner in color than the other or is one a tighter weave than the other?

i'm not getting fake stuff ever again. I have a VIS duckbill I got from password and the bottom of the wing has a 1 inch gap between the wing and the window so when I hit bump it rattles. I ordered a spoon duckbill, and will get a spoon hood when I get my motor. you get what you pay for.

I would imagine they would be the same pattern. If you are unsure call up the company and ask what pattern they used.i will see if I can find my site where I bought mine from and they have around 10 patterns so you can see which one they use and how it looks
