I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

October 3rd: Altoona, PA meet Coverage

Post by munster » October 03, 2004

I personally think this meet turned out pretty well for a local meet. We had roughly 20 people show. I didn't realize that we would have been in and out of Hooters that quickly so we had about two hours to kill before the cruise-in started (poor scheduling on my part). We killed that time with a trip across the street to the mall where Jawn showed off his DDR skills, and Richardson (mycivicisonair), myself, and Richardson's friend won everyone finger puppets and chinese fingercuffs. We had a good presence at the cruise-in amongst all of the hot rods and classics.

I want to thank everyone for coming out, it was nice to meet alot of you (even if I didn't get your names).

Post pics in this thread of the meet if you got em.

i thought it was a good turnout too. Too bad the everyone that was there in the beginning (at hooters) couldn't have stayed later. A lot more people than I expected for a local meet, especially with the forum being semi new. We'll have to make sure to do it again sometime.

btw- if anyone remembers the purple supercharged cavalier. A little bit after all you guys left, he finally said he was ready to race. So after some cop scouting and some bullshitting, we finally went. I launched a bit too high (2500 or so haha) and lost all traction, barely had a 1st gear (caught traction at around 7500 or so) so he pulled half a car. (i've got NO tread up front). As soon as I caught traction i could tell i was going to start pulling so before i was even ahead of him, I threw on the four ways real quick (yea... i'm a dick haha) and proceded to pull pretty hard. All in all, we raced a bit less than 1/4 mile, I got my 5 bucks and it's all on tape. I'll try to post the video up as soon as i get a chance to put it on the pc.
