I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

is a vx really the lightest eg?

Post by godzilla_eg » January 19, 2004

i just bought a 95 civic vx. i was looking up specs on it trying to learn as much about it as possible. the page i found with specs listed all models, and to my surprise, the vx was the lightest. i always thought the cx was the lightest. can anybody confirm this? thanks.

VX lightest sounds about right. The reason the CX is more common to see at races is probably due to the rarity of the VX. Since the VX was built with fuel consumption as a priority, pounds were shaved. Where from is the biggest question.

cool, thanks. so the vx is rare? i thought it was because i never really heard that much about it, but how rare is rare? also, would you happen to know how difficult it would be to get a jdm gsr engine into it? as far as mechanical skills, i think i can handle it, i just have to get my hands on an engine lift.

it will be super easy to get a gsr motor into a VX... the reason being is that EG and DC share a lot of similiar parts... and the upside to it is that the VX and SI models are already wired for vtec. so basically its plug and play

cool, thanks guys. i don't see many clean crx's, so i think i may hold on to this car for a while. i thought a gsr would be almost bolt in, its good to hear it from someone else though. people are definately a lot nicer on this forum then most of the other forums i have been on.

ps. your car is badass randy...saw it a while back on onlineshowoff, and check every now and then to see updates. keep up the good work!

if i can find the specs again, i'll post it up.

the vx is the greatest eg for a swap. it light, looks good, and the swap is very easy. i know i have a 92 vx with a B16 SiR II in it. I love it and for what it is it moves very well.
