I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

So i been posting a bit on the nwp fitness forum cause i been running a couch to 5k program as well as doing the Shaun T Insanity Program. Figure i would start something here to see who else has been doing the fitness thing.

im gonna pull the 2 posts i have made on nap here to get this rolling then ill keep this post active instead.
just took the first insanity fit test. today. I'm beat damn. (january 23rd 2012)
switch kicks: 52
power jacks: 47
power knees: 84
power jumps: 32
globe jumps: 10
suicide jumps: 14
push-up jacks: 22
low plank oblique: 21

i also worked out today at the gym. running the couch to 5k program started week 2. so doing that earlier before jumping into insanity tonight i think was probably a mistake. ah well till tomorrow.

ill note that i jumped on the bike for 10 minutes after my run in "sport training" mode level 10 and did 3.6 miles. i was pretty beat after that but i was POURING sweat after this fit test.

finished the day off with a 20oz cold glass of 1% chocolate milk.

im not going to give daily updates of the workouts but i want to say today i did the first actual workout "plyometric cardio circuit' today after i got home from work. i would like to eventually start doing these before work when i get up in the morning but wow it really is an insane work out.
after the initial stretch and "warm up" i was pretty pumped to get into it. there was about 15 or so minutes left and it really takes everything you got to keep pushing and dig deep. i noticed myself resting a good bit. eventually i know i will be able to push through this but this first week i can tell is going to be complete hell.

anyone else on here doing the workout, post up your fit test results. get a few of us on here doing it we can motivate one another. it really is an insane workout.

alright so I'm back with my day 15 fit test results.
ill post them after my day 1 results so i can track progress.
switch kicks: 52 - 57
power jacks: 47 - 54
power knees: 84 - 102
power jumps: 32 - 41
globe jumps: 10 - 12
suicide jumps: 14 - 17
push-up jacks: 22 - 26
low plank oblique: 21 - 30

i been noticing a HUGE improvement in just those 15 days. i lost 6 lbs since day 1 and my abs are starting to show up a little it. i can notice my shoulders getting a little bigger also.

i love this workout. at first i was dreading coming home from work to put the dvd in and do the workout but there is times now i just can't wait.

i do however need to find a better shoe. I'm using a running shoe and it just don't have the support i need. they are good for running but not for insanity. i might look into a cross trainer or even try this barefoot. (I'm doing this on a carpeted floor) i was reading on the beach body forum that people are doing it barefoot without problems but i guess this will all depend on the person and situation.

I drink too much, don't watch what I eat, eat snacks because I travel all the time, and I run like 5-6 miles a day. boom. fitnessed.

I go to the gym at least 5 days a week. Usually each workout for the bigger muscle groups (chest, legs, back) consists of one compound/powerlift exercise and then 3-4 other exercises with the last one being a high rep pump exercise to get the blood flowing.

Have started doing a little more carido trying to work up my endurance since i am pre-registered for the Tough Mudder thats coming to Pittsburgh in 2013.

Supplements:
Pre-workout - Jack3d (15-20min before)
ON Gold standard 100% Whey Protein (2 servings after workout, adding BCAA and glutamine. 1 serving in the morning on off days)
Multi-vitamin

I try to change up my routines every 3-4 weeks just to keep things different

so today i went for the barefoot workout.
i can tell my calfs and shins are going to be screaming tomorrow. the workout alone felt so much better though.

i have a 7 mile race in may i signed up for http://www.mudonthemountain.com I'm pretty excited about that i been on the hunt for some great shoes and I'm going to sign up for the pittsburgh "run for your lives" 5K zombie race.

so i think I'm going to try the new balance minims trail http://www.shopnewbalance.com/men/shoes ... ing/MT10RD from the reviews sounds incredibly promising.

was looking at some tough mudder footage on youtube today. F' that ice bath and electric shock wires. haha. i would go into shock and die.
