I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Back from the dead

I meant the CP-Rs, not me..

One pair, as you can see was fairly clean. A few scratches here and there, maybe some curbage, nothing major.

The other pair, as anyone can tell, looks like a train wreck. The wheels had numerous bends in them (which Wheels America told me would NOT be fixable), not to mention the fact that they were just plain ugly. Nothing had worked in attempts to clean them, nothing.

Well, I decided to shell out and have them fully brought back to life.
I had the wheels first repaired (the bend that Wheels America told me could not be fixed, has indeed, been fixed) then stripped, colored, had the stickers applied letter by letter, and had clearcoat sprayed over the faces to ensure longevity of the stickers. I had the lips (and inner barrels) fully polished out just for kicks.

All in all, I am thoroughly satisfied with my results, and if anyone requires such a revival of their wheels, feel free to get in touch with me. I can direct you to the right people!

(BTW I know the shading on the R is a little off, but I can live with that...)

Well I figured it needed a little verbal content vs. just posting pictures..

Stay tuned, I got another set of cp-r in storage I am going to redo.
(I also have a pair of 15X7 and a pair of 16X8 I'm trying to find two pairs to match up with those, so I can have all of them refinished as well. I'm thinking some time down the line I want to do custom colors, custom font, etc etc.)

These were for a customer, so I kept everything original. If I ever come up on another pair to complete my 15 or 16" set you can believe you'll see something a little out of the blue!

I'll be posting some more restoration/refinish jobs in the near future as I have big plans for some of my wheels :D

On top of the cp-rs I may have my Blitz BRW 02 refinished in a flat black with gloss black lips.. sounds interesting..
