I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I would have played dumb and said "what is a motor mount?" :D then I would proceed to bitchslap the hoe... ;) Have you thought of doing a head transplant? it's less noticable by the rents, if your willing to pay any repair bills and tell the rents you took it to the dealer...

I'm so glad my parents are cool with me racing. My dad bought me a helmet for autoX this year, and last year he bought me my mount kit.

hum, i would save the money or use it to pay off your loan and just wait till later. i know that sucks, but if you don't have money to take care of the turbo.. and you'll be using it to drive to college and back, it might not be a good idea right now. :)

Throw some nice suspension on it and visit a few auto-x's or track days, way more fun anyways.

Im not sure what you guys are talking about with voiding your warranty with I/H/E or anyother add on for that matter. The dealership has to physically prove that the mod cause the failure of the part for them to legally deny any warrany work. They cant just tell you because you have an intake and your shock blew that they wont cover it because you have modded your car. There was a lawsuit filed a while back that was the basis for this law. The info on the lawsuit is in a post over on EPhatch.com, its Magnusson vs. ?? cant remeber the exact details. I recommend researching this if you plan on taking your car in for warranty work and are worried about them denying it for any reason.

im not saying if u have an intake and a strut blows the motor warranty is shot. im saying if u alter the suspension and something happens with the suspension. then warranty wont cover that... kinda like saying if u have an intake and your beginning to have motor problems. when the shop pops the hood and see's the intake they wont fix the problem under warranty because altering the engine with the intake voided it.

i was told you can have the shop put the part on and the warranty wont be voided. (exhaust wise) not sure if the same goes for intakes and suspension.

I was just trying to make a general point with that example. You really have to be tough with the stealerships, ive read over the last year on ephatch tons of threads with people who have syncro problems and the svc mgr will try and deny warrany work because they see an intake and exhaust and say that you abuse your car. Its a law that the dealerships have to prove that an aftermarket part is the cause of the problem. Even if you hydrolock your engine because of a CAI, they still have to prove it. A lot of people dont push the issue with them because they feel helpless or that it wont get them anywhere. you just have to remember that dealerships are not out to do free work and will do their damnest to get out of it. Im just trying to give you guys some info so if it happens to you, you have a leg to stand on.
