I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

K20 and K24

Post by spdyslvrEX » September 23, 2007

I understand that you can drop a K20 in the 01 civic. Now I am reading that you can get a K24 (CRV motors i think) and drop those in with the K20 head. Ive also been reading that you can get the K-Series Honda Accord Motors whose pistons have more compression with the K20 Head and drop those in....How much of this is true or am I just reading it wrong.....

It is also supposedly alot cheaper to do it this way.....The more info the better.....

k24 is from accord, crv, element, accord, tsx.....

It can be cheaper to run a k24 with a K20 vtec head if you get the right k24 block. I believe tsx and one other.

My little brother has an rsx that's k24 swapped. using an accord block with TSX pistons, ended up being cheaper than fixing his k20
finally turbo!
check the cardomain!!! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/832854

you have to watch though .... there is one k24 that you need to use TSX pistons in ( i think it's the a4, but i'm not sure) to be able to use the k20 head. If you can find a TSX shortblock, you're good to go.

You can find the first k24's i mentioned for dirt cheap too....

check out k20a.org and it'll have all the info you need.

sweet...I know that it will be a little more exspensive but will the Type R pistons fit if I got the over sized and the engine honed out? doesnt have to happen if it doesnt need to just curious....

if you get oversized pistons you need to bore the block as well. honing just cleans up the cross-hatch. er, wait, which block do you want to put these into? also you had better check piston to valve clearance as r pistons typically have a higher dome.
