I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Looking for advice!

Post by trupowermotorsports » April 29, 2007

Hey guys ,

Whats up? I am looking for advice on a few things. Each week we host a meet locally and its mostly Honda/Acura. I sometimes feel left out because there isn't any other mx-3 or Mazda's period. I like my car but everyone is telling me to get a Honda , what do you think ? I can compete with a lot of them on the street besides a few with b18's . I have the stock k8 for now , I want to swap in a KLZE eventually but cant afford it right now. I am looking for ways to improve the K8 right now so it performs a little better, any suggestions. Also I am really into the JDM look of things. What is considered JDM for us though ? what are some popular JDM parts? Where can I get them? I plan to do a lip kit , I heard the accord lips fit nicely without any hard modification, but what yr accord? I am sorry about all the questions but I am a noob lol. I just want to be able to look as good if not better than the local civics lol. I also would like to perform just as good if not better. All help and advice would be greatly appericated. I want JDM heads but it seems they don't make any really for this, I am thinking of making my own , shaving the lens and making them smooth and clear and then doing some type of city light in them . any suggestions on this?

Thanks, Jay.

Having a car without as much aftermarket support as a popular Honda or Nissan is tough. If you really like it though don't sell it just because of what people are saying. Use your imagination and do some trial and error on fitting parts and what not.

Sean is a wise man. Rock what you like. Don't follow what others want you to do. I knew a guy with an MX-3 that was totally done up. It was a little ricey, but that was 5-6 years ago. Everything pretty much was. Hell I am driving an ist. The only things I can get is intake, and exhaust. Nobody makes shit for my car. But you kn ow what. I don't care. I am gonna do what I want to it and guess what, it will be sick, becuase there won't be 50 of them rolling around. Yours will be unique because it is the only one.

Yep. Keep it.

Sorry, I'm not much help in the jdm mods dept., but you can't go wrong with just a badging swap. Was that sold as a Eunos over there? I rock Eunos badging on my Mazda.

I vote keep it clean, and remember function follows form. I don't know how boost-worthy the K8 or KLZE are, but that's an option, and if people can put KLZEs in Miatas and boost them then you certainly can! Do you have any pics of the car you could post up? Maybe someone will do a chop.

it was sold as a Mazda, I wish I had eunos badges and parts lol, where did you get the badges?
Image Image Theres a few pics, a chop would awesome , I want to keep it clean and fabricate some 94-97 honda accord lips, they are direct fit. I want it to have some JDM appeal. I am doing custom headlights soon , smoothing the lens and adding city lights possibly doing a projector retro.

I think I got them from mmmiata.com or something, but since yours was sold as a Mazda I wouldn't do the badging in your case. Maybe just shave the badges off.

I don't think you understood my post.

They sold the MX3 as both a Mazda and a Eunos? What was the difference?
