every single active duty unit deployed or being deployed (including activated guard and reserve) have been extended to 15mo. its the new 'standard' deployment time. supposedly its to give us more time in between deployments but whatever, i doubt it. thing that sucks is, my unit just got extended with everyone else, and they are ALREADY talking about extending us an additional 3 months, that means i'd be here for 18mo. im already going to miss all the bs holidays, my daughters 1st bday, xmas, my wifes bday, and if we get extended even 2 weeks longer, ill miss our 2nd wedding anniversary, which would suck extra bad because i was in kuwait when it was my 1st, so i'd be in the middles east for my 1st two anniversarys, what shit. i mean i cant complain too much, i volunteered for it knowing i was going to get deployed, just sayin it sucks, not askin for simpothy, but i thank you guys for the support. especially you banzai since i have a pretty good feeling your anti-military/war/whatnot, and thats your right as an american citizen, and talkin to iraqis out here makes me love america so much more.

you can get an article 15 (basically means they take your money) for getting a sun burn. reason being? "Destruction of government property" I thought that was the biggest load of shit when I heard that. I'm gettin the fuck outta the army when my contract is up though. They keep trying to get me again with a re-up bonus, fuck em.

Yeah I almost got that article 15 when I was in korea. I got a second degree burn on my back, and was unable to move for a week. after a while I got these nasty blisters that oozed out thick yellow shit. My CO said he was gonna give me one, but they never came to my room to insepct me. So after it went away they couldn't give it to me. stupid.
