its the tom savini course... if you follow horror like i do.. tom is the guy that did all the makeup for night of the living dead and all the 'dead' series. so the courses should be very very interesting. wish me luck hope this one goes well im really interested in this school compared to AIP but who knows.
I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

so i went monday after work...
drove into monessen, PA about 2 hours from my place... my god is that town a run down fucking SHIT HOLE. there is a huge factory on the right side of the town, 2 roads in the town, both oneway roads one running one way one running the other... run down buildings... almost like aghost town... why they selected to put a college here is beyond me... so after driving around the block 3 times looking for a visitors parking space i park my car and head into the office of the place...
talk to the advisor's there is 4 of them... 2 older ladies and 2 younger males. the lady that gave me the tour was the sweetest, most kind lady i have ever came in contact with besides my grandparents and my girlfriends grandparents... so anyways there was classes going on so i got to whitness everything going on..
she took me through all the classrooms... the school is actually in an old chuch she said so the class rooms are TINY and the classes are made up of 15 persons or less... by the end of the tour...
I WAS SOLD!!! this place was AMAZING. i was totally blown away by everything they teach you at this school.. from anatomy, foundations, mold making/castings, hair/beards, sculpture, advanced effects, portfolio setup and even anamatronics! cable and electronic! the price of the school was 1/2 the price of the other school i looked into and you get so much more! they have an 80% placement so thats good as well.
ts a 63 week school. so 2 years. and the next semester starts oct. 4th. hopefully i have the money saved up by then to be able to get a few days/week or so without working and still make bill payments and such... if not ill be saving over the winter and holidays for the next semester starting in feb.
wish me luck. im highly motivated to get the ball rolling on this and really get a jumpstart on my new careeer i want in the special FX industry!!
