I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
My car hates partzzzzz.
My car hates partzzzzz.
If we were working on someone else's car today everything would have been done by dinner time and ready to rock. Instead we were working on mine which hates everything.
Here's what Boob and I did and the complications (we started between 1:30-2:30 with two trips to Advance for random things. 99% done at midnight):
LS tranny out...GSR tranny in. Pretty much every bolt in a tight spot wouldn't come out easily resulting in numerous busted knuckles and thrown tools. Other than that the tranny swap went well and it's done.
Then we did my Integra brakes. Not fun. Taking off the Civic knuckles...every cotter pin broke in the balljoint. Balljoints spun when trying to get the castle nuts off. Stock rotors stuck on the integra knuckles. Hard line wouldn't come out of the fitting on teh drivers side. Pretty much every little thing that could have seized, stripped, snapped, etc....did. Get the Integra knuckles on. Axle wouldn't go in passenger side without some weaseling. Stainless line was a pain in the ass on drivers side. Balljoint on tie rod spun and needed patience to get it into the knuckle. Then once it's all ready to go. Powerslot rotors, Integra calipers and knuckles, stainless lines, GSR tranny, blah blah blah...we have the wrong Hawk pads. They're for a Civic Si and won't fit at all.
Needless to say we put the wheels on, pushed the car forward in teh garage (which I have barely enough room because of A.) hot water tank B) Ladders from doing the plumbing C) dirt bike and Harley and D) pvc pipe everywhere. Just to leave it till tomorrow when we get some pads from Advance or wherever is open on 4th of July so we can get it together, get the brakes bled and see if the drivers side caliper will stick (pushed in kinda tight).
I'm going to bed.
