I’m sure most of you have heard or seen pics of the Honda HSV GT or what we knew as the next generation NSX. Yes it did get the can a couple months back when Honda decided to scrap plans to produce it, but it will be available for the GT500 class of the Japan Super GT Race series. There’s been a bit of confusion as to why it’s allowed to run because most know the rule that all participants must be production vehicles but…but….the HSV will be allowed to run because the rule also allows for “production-ready” vehicles. Meaning that as long as the car is ready for mass production, it’s technically a “production vehicle”…
It’s a shame that it will never actually see production in the mass market though. Such a beautiful car… Not to say that the production model would have looked exactly like this or anything, but at least it’ll carry similar styling-cues. Phaze2xDoods Tony with the NSX and I were talking about this earlier tonight and we both came to an agreement that even if it were produced, we would never even be able to own one until like 20 years later when they’re relics and not worth anything, so it’s better that they don’t produce it. Tony would just buy it and put it in his garage where he will turn it into another closet/storage unit like his current NSX…
I would never own one if it came out because I can’t drive for shit. I mean, I couldn’t drive a nail into a wall if I wanted to. I tried to angle my car out of a Denny’s driveway one time and I almost flipped over. I’m kidding of course. I just wouldn’t really own one of these things unless I knew how to make full use of it you know…Anyways, this thing looks amazing. The front end still has a distinct NSX look to it and the rear still retains the one-piece rear taillamp like the current NSXs…
Just imagine if this thing was painted a bright red color or championship white….oh man…shit would be crazy. What would be even crazier is if this thing ever did go into production and you can grab a copy of Best Motoring and see this car battling the Lexus LF-A…damn…
I thought it was the V10 in there but to conform to GT500 class rules, they had to pull that and swap in a 3.4L V8 that’s good for about 500hp. The original concept car was to have an all-wheel drive system too but again to conform to rules, the system was removed for a real-wheel drive layout…
Alright enough talking, you guys should really watch these videos if you haven’t by now. They’re all over the net by now but if you haven’t had a chance to see them, make sure to check them out now. Just to see this thing in action and to hear that motor scream…oh man, amazing….There’s a 3rd video but it looked like it was shot with a cell phone or something blair witch like and I almost threw up from all the shaking. Feel free to find it if you think you need to see more….

I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Re: Honda HSV GT. AMAZING.
I watched that vid last night at work. This thing is a beast. I heard that Honda will NOT be making a production car of it. They found some loop hole in the Super GT rules that allows them to use a car not in production.
