I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

when it comes to used jdm pieces, there is the basics that i can easily obtain for cheap (more common pieces, such as front ends, etc). as for a lot of the harder to obtain pieces that i have in my garage, those took some more searching (for the part, and the right price).

i don't really deal with used parts as far as my shop goes, just new aftermarket parts.

used parts are a bitch. cause not every flaw shows up in pictures till you get the part and its pepressing because it has a a lil wear or something that just bumms you out.

for instance my recaro's. they looked MINT in the pictures i got. but when i got them they wore a lil more worn on the passanger seat (driver in japan) just enough to piss me off. then i go back and look at the pics and realize yeah they were dirty... thats one reason im resorting to jdm aftermarket parts.. buying new.. i wanna sell the recaro's and sell the ctr steering wheel and pick up spoon seats and spoon wheel, brand new.

but it sucks with spoon parts because the msrp markup isnt very much of an extreme difference.

tell me who ships the stuff for you than... $1400 is CHEAP even without the tyres... around here, the european importer of spoon parts wants 700+ EUROS PER wheel... which comes to around $800 * 4 = $2400

I try not to buy parts unless I can get them new in the box. oem or aftermarket. I lucked out and managed to get my bumpers, foglights, etc. in the box.

Even with all of the jdm parts suppliers we have hookups with through thejdm we can't get alot of parts. My bumpers and foglights were from Ebay for example.

yeah well... and you are the lucky ones... you have the hookups!

for me it's a lot more difficult as our hookups want a lot more profit than yours, as in the states there's a bigger market :(
