I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I don't take anything I read on the internet personally. Hardly anyone takes "JDM" as seriously as you might think, most of us are just trying to style our cars cleanly and tastefully.
I give mad props to those who do. but for those who are going crazy over the whole JDM thing is just plain stupid. it doesnt really matter what kind of car it is... its the person.

it for those who think Im all pissy because Im in Japan...it doesnt matter. I could be anywhere in the world and still be angry.

Didnt mean to point this at anyone and by no means to disrespect all the people that actually worked hard on their cars and has been their long time passion. Its just one of those annoying things for me...

I dont have the exact words to say what I want to express but if one of you are sitting down with me in front of Circle K eating Pino ice cream here in Japan and see a Ferio with a massive assive kit, APC stickers and tail lights, about a christmas tree full of neon, driven and owned by a Japanese person, he's wearing crypt colors to go with his car... you wouldnt exactly say... Sumimasen, Sugoi Kuruma.... you get the point.
I wouldn't do that in the states either, whats your point?
i think this post is not aim towards you but lets stop covering it for other people, they do have a bad taste in style. i too for one has it. i like corny things for my car and i always end up not getting the stuff.

if someone got offended on this thread then you might as well take this bamboo fighting pit thread off the forum. just a thought.

It all comes down to be who have style and people who don't. If you can't dress yourself or have a nice looking place, odds are you can't modify a car nicely. It's dumb to argue about, but I too sometimes get annoyed with trends and styles. It's best to hold yourself above that shit though, it's only your fault if you feel you're stuck in a styling rut. "JDM" style is just a term used to describe a certain style that people respect. I made fun of Tenchu when I first learned that this site was fully "JDM", now I just respect that they're not all punks riding a wave.

This is dumb, I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents... because I fuckin' can.

Note from an admin:

This place is just for blowing off steam/calling people out/ranting/etc.....just as long as it stays in this section and doesn't carry into the rest of the forum.

Just remember kids...it's the internet. If you get called out...don't

i agree with both sides ... it might seem like i'm taking an easy way out - but i honestly do. I think its retarded when people are strictly and outrageously JDM yo! Sure I like a lot of honda's japanese counterparts ... but then again, i like a lot of usdm cars also. I like cars period ... its just that the styling that i choose to reflect is that of oem japan. The keyword i believe is reflect. Not mirror or copy exactly ... but to reflect. I think munster said it best when he explained his way of doing things. Myself and my group of close friends are the same was as he is. Sure there are a lot of things that we buy that are JDM ... but mainly because of the fact that we like it better than another choice. Sure we've bought some dumb stuff... but who cares ... people always buy dumb stuff .. whether its car related or not. But again ... there are plenty of non-jdm things we've bought as well. I have a b16 block ... I can't say its not jdm ... because the block itself actually is and obd0 b16 block ... but that was just a coincidence ... I bought the block because of what's inside it ... for the performance. I could care less if it had shitbox stamped on the side ... it still does exactly what i had intended it to do. Handle boost. And boost has absolutely nothing to do with anything honda of japan has to offer....

Simply stated - i modify cars because i want to modify cars. I do it in a way that i think looks good, performs well, and suits my needs. 'nuff said....

and munster's still a pussy .... i heard about your 2.4's.......... haha ... good luck next time brudda. We're all going on tuesday the 9th .. you should come.

They were 2.2 and 2.3. I might be there the 9th if I can get my clutch in by then. I think that's one of the reasons for the 60'
