I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

yeah it was a 6 i know, but that still dosnt mean its a skyline motor, i have seen the skyline motor with the valve covers that has skyline stamped into it but i know theres a few different kinds of skylines so i wasnt sure, it didnt really have any distinctave markings, i was a nissan motor tho, i seen alot of parts on it with nisan emblems and such on the motor. and no one knows who that dood in the 300zx is ?

Hey Tenchu, thanks for linking all my pics...ya bastad! :x By the way, it's Eric...
Nope, you guys probably can't see in the pics how far I've gotten, because I'm doing everything the right way, and the majority of the crap is reverse engineering from the 180, and I don't trust anything that they did, so I have to double check everything, huge waste of time. The chassis is going to be sandblasted and painted this week, a lot of the time has been wasted doing the rhd conversion the right way(i.e.not just slopping shit together or cutting holes in the USDM firewall). This was done as an effort to have the engine bay as similar to a stock GT-R dimensions as possible so I don't have to modify every part I ever put on the car. Most mods will be as an effort to change this car from a drag car to a proper all-rounder.

Anyways, RBs in 240s aren't common, RB26s in 240s are even less common as the majority go with the RB25DET (many differences from RB26, most importantly there isn't much of an aftermarket for the 25) I'm tired of talking about this crap, but, I'm new, so, once again, Tenchu, you're a jerk, you're banned for another 1/14th of a fortnight.

As a bit of general information, my car sucks hard, it's slow, and smells worse than your dad in the bathroom. It's also about as pretty as your girlfriend... :?: Also, I'm poor, I work for this car alone, and it's all been bought because it was cheap for what it was. Budget is still in way lower than a used WRX ($17k) I'm out!

its possible to have a valve cover with no skyline written all over it.

if it is an inline 6 like the above picture more than likely it is a skyline engine. not necessarily going to be an rb26 but an rb.

it doesnt necesarily that it has to have a stamp rb26 on the front cover, a lot of people take it off or just get after market covers for it.

Bingo. Mine the previous owner took the front "RB26" cover off. No worries, I can always go and get the Trust clear cam gear cover with "RB26" pressed into it. I would like to find a plug cover though, that's difficult for me to find for some reason... :(

Looks like an awesome project man!
Its good to see your taking your time and doing everything right.
The one thing you dont want to do is rush it, take your time and do everything right the FIRST time, saves alot of headache in the long run.
And RB26 in 240 is by no means a common swap, I mean they are becoming somewhat popular, the RB20's and 25's, but 26 is still very uncommon.
Nice car, I hope to see more pics of the progress on it 8)
BTW, what size snail is that?
And when are you going to powdercoat your intake mani!
Peeling/chipped RB26 intake mani's make the baby jesus cry. lol
What engine management do you plan on using? And what type of fuel setup are you going to run?
8)

Exactly my thoughts.

If Tenchu doesn't ban me, sure, I'll share photos here too. You guys sound a lot cooler than the local board's members.

R33 GT-R is there now, maybe stand-alone soon.
Prok0 wrote: And what type of fuel setup are you going to run?
Fuel cell with massive fuel pump

Thanks again
Thanks Banzai, yeah, my car will look like that car soon enough. Stock aero first, then a kit like that, and Koguchi style hood with a few needed "venturis" (sp?) ala R34 GT-R hood.
