A new hobby of mine that I recently got into was aquariums, most specifically, reef keeping. I also found it interesting but never knew enough about it. A friend of my got into and was willing to help me start and educate me on the basics.
Being that I live in an apartment I chose to go with a nano reef to start with which is actually more difficult and not recommend for beginners since just a little issue will result in big problems in such a small volume of water. But I figured what better way to start then with a challenge and I figured if I could keep a small system stable I would not have as hard of a time with a big system later.
I started with a 6gal tank taling things slow and adding a little at a time. I currently am keeping soft corals and a few LPS (Large stoney polyp) corals. I also have 2 awesome lyrics clownfish, 1 orange&white and 1 black&white, as well as a few hermit crabs, snails, and brittle starfish. Here are a few pics of my current setup up. I am working on cycling a new 20gal tank and will transfer everything once its ready. The 20gal with allow me to keep a couple more fish, corals, and I will be running an LED light fixture to allow me to keeping SPS corals and have a much more diverse and colorful system
