I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

No one said go broke buying legit shit.
If you can't build a car right and live your life, don't build a car at all.

Also, stop saying wheels and headlights aren't safety devices.

im going to throw the bullshit flag on that one.

Not all of us have mom and dad buying our cars and parts. most of us work and purchase products with the $ we have to mess around with. most people build there car with the $ they have.

like i said before build it for yourself. not for everyone else. because in the end there happy and your not. so enjoy your build and be happy with the style you go with. if its legit parts or replica parts. in the end it always turns out nice.

This thread is pretty pointless and arguing is gonna do nothing but cause a rift in thejdm.com. If anything this thread needs to be more towards a constructive critisism not "who has what" and bashing people for what they do to their ride legit or not.

Bottom line; people are gonna do what they want to do. We build or cars for ourselves and if you buy shit thats not legit and are happy with it thats your thing. for those of you who dont buy knock off shit and go all out props to you and your dedication. Again something i think thats agreed upon with all is dont go around saying your shit is legit if it isnt; and if it isnt dont expect alot of praise from those who are putting the money out to buy the real shit that inspires our knock off stuf. We all know modifying a car is not cheap and bottom line isnt just what name and how much stuf cost so be smart with your purchases and BE SAFE.

Also, dont be afraid to buy used!!! check places like HT and other forums(like ours :) ) for used legit shit, and ebay CAN have good stuf if you know what your looking for but i have found anything legit tends to be pretty over priced through Ebay.

I have had both real and knock off parts on my car, and i have come to one conclusion.... They will both break, dent, and/or smash off when a kamikaze whitetail decides it wants to be suicidal. So i have to say i have crash tested both types of proucts and had equal results. The only good thing about having "real parts" is showing the receipts to the insurance adjuster and getting reimbursed.
