I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Painted the enigne cover

Post by JDMJedi » March 27, 2007

Yo,

Check it out. I painted the plastic cover. I was thinking about camo, but it seemed alot more complicated than I could handle. So I painted it my favorite color... blue. I think I did a good job with it. Kotomile helped me with the masking of the letters, so I learned how to do that. I think it looks good as hell.

Not a whole lot. I taped up he VVTI and toyota emblem so they would stay silver. Then I cleaned the whole thing up with some oil, residue remover that my roommate gave me. Then I sanded it down with some 400 grit sandpaper. nothing really rough or to hard, just mainly to scour the surface. Then I wiped it all down again. Then I applied the adehesive promoter that singlecam recommended. Then applied the paint. Did 2 coats of promoter, then 3 of the paint.

Gonna let it sit and make sure it is good. then put it back on.
