I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
H23 Hybrid Build, ITS OFFICIALLL!!!
Eh, ever since Hondata tried suing Chris at Xenocron I've not been a fan.
The JDM h22a heads have a slightly more aggresive exhaust came IIRC... but I forgot you were using aftermarket internals so it won't really be relevant.
Don't really recommend using a V-AFC... get a real tune if you can afford it, especially with it being a hybrid everything needs to be just right to function correctly... I'd find a p28 or a cheaper and more available p72, you are correct the p13/p14's E-PROM chips are not (what's the best word?) modifiable? Able to be messed with?
I think you're going to do fine with this little excursion man, best of luck. If you need help sourcing any parts let me know and I'll find you whatever (or try to).

So in your method what would be the tunning device? just chipping the ECU? Kinda confused... Also i know VAFC isnt considered the "best" thing but it works. VAFC was also my cheap temp route to get the build ready for this spring, then after a summer we'll see what i decide.T0DA wrote: Don't really recommend using a V-AFC... get a real tune if you can afford it
The whole hondata thing i dont care much about, probally because i hadnt heard about it but, personally if the shit works then it works, more worried about my car then corprate BS.
vafc arent the greatest....if you cant afford a real street/dyno tune i would use that as a temp but not for long. like toda said being a hybrid and not aftermarket internals everything needs to be PERFECT to get the best power and reliablity.
i mite have a p72 layin around...ill have to check. p28s are pricy because of demand but its the best way to go!

If you got the P72 let me know Billy, i'll grab that tomarrow when i come to pick up the head if you got it. As far as the Vafc It would have been a temp thing. The internals will also be stock just to get the thing running for the summer then next winter or maybe even mid summer i will keep adding to this.
Billy, any good tuners you know of in our area? if i can get that P72 and get it chipped i would rather do that, especially if it would be a cheaper way then a VAFC, VAFC almost doubles the price of putting this thing on the road by summer and would be the only thing keeping me from doing this now...

yeah hybrid out it buffalo are supposed to to be really good! they know a lot. i was going to get my hatch tuned there. they told me to rip out my vafc and they will remap my ecu. give them a call. they are reasonalby priced to. i think with a custom remap, street tune, then dyno tune it was like $400. i cant find that ecu i think i sold it sorry bro. but yeah come get that head tomorrow.
If you wanted to, a street tune *might* be suffice until you crack it open for internal work... you'd just have to read up on that though. Crome Pro/Uberdata/Neptune all ftw. If you lived closer to me, we have an excellent tuner by the name of Joseph Davis, turbo cars or N/A cars alike he's damn good. Also a licensed eCtune (also a GREAT tuning program, look into it, they have a website) tuner.
i'll give them a call and tell them what im doing and see what they say...EK29K wrote:yeah hybrid out it buffalo are supposed to to be really good! they know a lot. i was going to get my hatch tuned there. they told me to rip out my vafc and they will remap my ecu. give them a call. they are reasonalby priced to. i think with a custom remap, street tune, then dyno tune it was like $400. i cant find that ecu i think i sold it sorry bro. but yeah come get that head tomorrow.
