00-03 parts not compatable?!

Well, it would seem that though there are no signifigant design changes, 00-03 parts aren't as backwards compatable as they were thought to be. Comptech, a major manufacturer of products for the S2000, has said that their airbox for the 00-03 model ap1 will NOT fit an 04 ap1?! I couldn't believe this, especially after examining an 04, but for some reason or another, there are mild fitament issues. Comptech has publicly stated that 04 products are in the works, and a few will be availible for sale in the next few months. While it's not JDM, it's still interesting.... and it brings about a pertinent question..... Will the 04 be able to reap the benifits of the massive JDM aftermarket following of the 99(JPN)-03 AP1?

The new 04 AP1 will create a massive JDM aftermarket just like the 99 did, I'm sure of it.

actually, in Japan, the 2.2 liter is just an option that isn't very popular. They are still fanatical about the 2.0L.... we are the only country in the world, well, including canada, that recieved the 2.2L without an option for the original F20C powerplant...
