I'd cover them anyhow. I personally don't think they'll crack, but I could be wrong. |

if they are tripple dipped, then no it shouldn't crack no matter what you do.... I'd buff em and throw some towels over them anyways just as a precaution... |

Chrome Care What you will need -Chrome Polish (My favorite is 'Old No.7' from Ace Hardware, but any other chrome polish will work) -Cloth applicator (Wal-Mart) -Terry Towels (Wal-Mart) -Big Towels or sheets (for protection over the winter) Procedure -Clean the chrome surface with ONLY soap, water, and a wash mitt. Chrome is very delicate to harsh chemicals. -Dry the surface off with a terry towel -Apply a little chrome polish to the terry applicator and rub in -For rims, I'd do both the inside and outside of the rim to increase the shine -Once the polish hazes a little, buff off with a clean Terrry Towel Notes -Some people believe you may PROTECT chrome rims with a wax or sealant. First off, wax melts over temps of 170*. If you drive this car normally, it'll melt right off into the air. -I have read too many articles that suggests that chrome pits if you seal it with a paint sealant. -To keep looking great, wash the chrome surface when you wash your car and polish it as well. You can get away with just washing and drying for about a month. But if you want the ultimate chrome shine, keep the surface polished. -To store them, put down a sheet or towel on the ground, then stack the rims with a towel or sheet between each rim. Temperature doesn't matter, a garage or basement would be just fine. |
