Figured I would post it in here. It's hard to justify our actions when something like this arises. This morning on his way to work, a friend of mine, but a greater friend to many others, suffered a skull fracture among other injurys in a horrible car accident. I didn't know him as well as his other friends, but he was still part of our family of friends at the shop. He was one of the most down to earth, friendliest people, and this shouldn't have happened to him. It's hard to see all my friends so upset over something that shouldn't have happened. I would just like to take a moment to say, think twice before your actions on the road. Is that one moment really worth your life? Always wear your seatbelt and never act stupid |

Man dies while drag racing in Visalia By David Castellon Staff writer A man who witnesses say was drag racing along Ben Maddox Way died Tuesday morning after he apparently lost control of the car he was driving and slammed into a light pole near the Mary’s Vineyard shopping center. Jessica Layva, who saw the crash from the lobby of Lamoure’s Cleaners where she works, said she rushed outside to help, but when she got to the wrecked silver Honda Civic, the man inside had no pulse. Visalia police Sgt. Shawn Delaney confirmed that the crash resulted in a fatality, but would release no more information. Layva said the man in the car appeared to be in his mid 20s. People working in the area said the Civic and another car, possibly a silver Honda Accord, were racing north along Ben Maddox from Tulare Avenue toward the shopping center. Some estimated the cars were going at least 75 mph on the curved road, fast enough that when the Civic hit the curb of the center median it went airborne and flipped sideways before hitting the light pole and knocking it down. Witnesses said the other car sped away. http://www.visaliatimesdelta.com/apps/p ... 1/50510002 What a tragedy.. |
