The event itself was awesome. I had a blast, saw some awesome cars. The day ended badly for my fiance's dad. On his first run on the third lap white smoke started coming from the engine. He pulled into the garage. He, myself, and my fiance's brother started working on the engine. We thought it was an oil leak, but none could be found. No oil was activly leaking. Chris (my fiance's brother) said he filled it with 2 quarts too much oil. So we thought maybe it was coming up through the oil dipstick. I know it sounds crazy, but that is the only place oil was found.
We were very wrong. On the second set out, on the second lap. Loud boom, some fire, and the car was dead. This time when we got the car to the garage we took off the hood. The engine was completly blown apart. He blew the head gasket, cause he didn't use a thicker one with his higher compresion engine. He used a stock thickness one. So he his rebuilding the engine now, for the next school in Sebring in July. here are the pictures.
