I figure this is the best palce to ask this question How far would you go to be JDM? Me I love jdm i would even go as far as a right hand drive conversion on my hatch. I have tried to buy as many jdm things for my car and i will never ever buy cheap ebay jdm knock offs. Just recently i bought a real spoon cf lip for my hatch even though i have a vis one. What about the rest of you how do you feel? |

I would only buy something if it had a sentimental value. Example, when I get a S13 Silvia front for my fastback 240SX, I would go out of my way to get authentic Tomei amber corners, because no one has them and they're mad-fucking-tight. The first time I saw an S13 Silvia front I thought, "That would be cooler if the corner lights were full amber." Later I found out Tomei made them back in the day, thus, it was a fancy coincidence. I wouldn't however, go out of my way to try and find any authentic "Sileighty" parts that have been rumored to exist. I don't particularly care for all the hype involved. Also, I think the kouki tail lights are sexy, but I'm not going to drop $500 on them because I think that the stock US tails are attractive enough as is. If I liked the look of a particular knock-off part, I would try to find the original. I wouldn't however buy any part just because it was rare and I happened upon it. That's ridiculous. I also wouldn't go out of my way to convert to rhd, but my engine lay out demanded it and I had all the parts already. |

I won't go to the extent that some people do. My whole reasoning is that I had knockoff headlights once...they leaked. I got pissed, threw down for authentic CTR lamps. Fitment was great, no leaking, etc. My bumpers fit without a test fit like most bumpers and the lip was bought separately and had no problems. I wanted fogs, but I hated the squares for the 96-98. Round yellows was the only way to fly. I wanted front seats, but I hated the rear seat in that ugly ass gray. I also didn't want to throw down cash for a CTR rear...got SiRs. Now my front and rear match. Now you won't find me buying vents, knobs, engine bay plates, vin tags, etc. Unless I'd get some super deal and I was ordering shit anyhow. I just have to have a reason to buy something. Excessive to some, not enough to others, but it works for me. |

well for those who have seen my car they know where i stand with the JDM craze i guess you could call it. i say go big or go home, in other words go real or get lost. for those who buy knock off your just wanna-be's that cant put out the cash for the real thing. if its fake say its fake. dont play it up to be the real thing thinking your fooling people. your making yourself look like a fool. although i get the tags and vents, and flares, i still get the big things as well. Motor, body parts, and wheels. so that is where i stand on this topic. i would go as far as i can until i dont have anthing left to get. |

Seems like it is a love it or leave it feeling about the jdm craze. I love the craze and i cant get enough of it. Although my wallet hates it and my airsoft has to suffer also but such is life. |

I'll admit that the thrill of the hunt is fun. Especially on VERY hard to find parts. Especially when you're able to find them brand new. I'd rather hunt for the parts and pay a reasonable price...not something absurd. People can keep their $300 parking poles, etc. Considering that I got my SiR bumpers, SiR cluster, SiR seats, CTR pillars, SiR fogs, SiR lip, etc. etc. etc. either brand new in the boxes or in mint condition for good prices. |

Body: Beteer-brand-aftermarket or OEM: fits great, so why even bother with the stress and irritation of knock off? Wheels: Daily driver car, so yeah, ROTAS... wouldn't want vurb rash on expensivew wheels... Suspension: for me this is more important than all of the other BS put together... So real stuff again on the important parts (Tein Flex etc) but who for now I'll make due with some cheap strut tower barts... the Spoon or Cusco bar don't do that much more (I speak from experience here... Owned OEM, Spoon, Cusco and some cheap knock off brands as well)... Basically, I don't care about JDM. I care about having fun and doing with / to my car what I want to... not what some idiotic-jury-at-some-show-where-I-won't-even-be-at, thinks... make up your own mind |

mmm nope I'm saying that it's one the most likely damages to a car... and since there's TERRIBLE curbs here, it's sometimes impossible to avoid them... especially when trying to do some circuit-style driving at night... :p you don't seem to know about how SMALL everything is here, compared to the US... there's a lot of roads that'll barely hold a crx or civic... that and living in a rural area where farmers and other hillbillies often do not get out of the way enough... so sometimes there's just no way around this shit.. the only person ever to put curb rash on any of my wheels is my mother... I had her move my car once (this one actually, 2 weeks after these rotas went on) and she parker it too close to the curb... wasn't I glad not to have bought genuine Volks ah hell, who cares... Soon I'll have a genuine Mugen wing on the back of my car, full ITR 5lug suspension and brakes... and I'm trying to defend my thought patterns? aaaaaaaaahahahahaa come here so I can kick you |
