| Post subject: | inspection sticker question? |
alright my buddy frank came up with this idea and i thought it was quite impressive comming from him... i just dont know how legal it is... for people in states with car inspections this question is for you... in PA the inspection and emission stickers must be on the front lower portioon of the windshield on the driver side. my buddy joe's windhield got cracked and needed replaced so the shop gave him a butout section of his glass with the inspecion sticker stuck to it and said 'if you get hassled show them this' alright my question... would it be legal to get my inspection stickers and instead of having them stick them to the windshild have them laminated? so that way i can scotch tape them to the windshield? then when i goto shows i can just peel them off and wala... inspectionless. it will make the car look that much cleaner. and when i do the rhd conversion it will make it look more authentic. becuase i will be rocking the JDM inspection stickers. anyone have an answer for this? honestly i dont see why its NOT legal. as long as the inspection stickers are visible to passing cops it should be legal? maybe i should takl with the person who does my inspections or something? |

I dunno. Does the sticker have your name or anything tying it to the car on it? If so, I don't see a problem, but if it's just a generic sticker with no identifying marks (tying it to you or your vehicle) I could see the authorities taking issue with it. Better to ask forgiveness than permission lol! |

When my windshield broke, they just taped my old sticker to the new windshield. I would at least tape them to the glass. Like Koto said, there's nothing written on the sticker identifying that it's your car. Just odometer, date, and signature of inspector. See if whoever does your inspection will let you laminate them then use tape. |

I didn't think the vin was anywhere on the sticker. I might be wrong, though. All I ever saw on the back of it is the handwriting from the garage. |

when you get your inspection they write the info in their log book vin # i know for sure then the sticker they give you has number wich in turn matches whatever line they put your info on in th book. When you get a windshield replaced they require you to get your inspection stickers replaced within 10 (i know got pulled over right after i got my windshield replaced) so the answer is no you have to have stickers on your car at all times. |

Why not get a small piece of plexi or lexan and stick it to that. At least you will be able to read both sides if you have to. |
