I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

trying to help a friend...(4A-GE)

Post by problem_si » October 10, 2006

I work with a guy who has an 87 Celica Gt convertable. His son blew up the motor, and he would like to get the car back on the road, but all the estimates to replace the motor have been rediculous (around $4k).

I did some digging, to find out that the gt convertable uses the 4AGE motor like a few other toyotas.

So....Can anyone give me info on where I can find a good source for a replacement motor? Remember, he's not looking to drag race...just looking for the easiest remedy for a blown motor.

Thanks guys...
