I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Eunos

Post by Highway-Star » June 04, 2010

Hey fellas,
Well, got a new project. I've decided to step out of the Honda game for a bit and get something RWD and smaller. So, found me a '90 Mazda Miata, Mariner Blue, 134k miles, great condition. Picked it up for 1200$, just needed a clutch. So, I towed it home and got to work. Here's the rundown...

The day I brought it home.. Image Got an Exedy clutch.. just an oem replacement. Image Got my Roadster and Eunos badges Image Borrowed my friends NB wheels (2nd gen miata) Image Got a Nardi hub and installed my Nardi wheel.. Image Got some OEM front and rear mudguards.. Image Got my rear brakes in, fronts will be in tomorrow. Along with some NB raceland coilovers. (fit perfect, just needed a little modificiation Image Image Image Image Some pics of it next to my friends NA... Image Image Image Thats what it looks like as of today! I know not everyone will like the car, but I love it. Really fun to drive, and will tear it up in autox when I'm ready.

Next mods on the list are:
drilled slotted front brakes (will be in tomorrow)
Raceland header (will also be here tomorrow)
Garage Vary front lip
Hard Dog hardcore roll bar
15X8 +0 Diamond Racing steelies in black or polished

Thats about it for now. More mods will be done in the future, but this is the start of my build. Hope you guys like!

Thanks fellas! And yeah I know, I go through cars like crazy haha.
Miata's are SUPER fun to drive. I loved driving it daily even when it was stock haha.

Here's some more progress on the car:

Well, got my front brakes installed.. Image Also here's the install of the header.
Stock: Image Comparison Image Installed Image And put on the starks :) Image Image Image Overall, very happy with the header! Fit PERFECT, no clearance issues or flanges not lining up. The only thing is, the 02 bung on the Raceland header was much further down, so I had to extend the 02 wire, which wasn't that big of a deal. Definitely gave the car more torque in the low range which is what I wanted! Let me know what you guys think!

I parted out my EM1 actually, hated to do it, but I'm selling it stock and parted it out so I can pay off most my student loan and have some extra cash laying around. My girl is jobless, so we both needed some extra cash haha.

But, its all for the better. I loved the EM1 but mannnnn, it didn't give me the rush like the Miata does, especially since this thing takes corners like a damn gocart! I love it! lol
