I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

B16 vs. Type R Head

Post by tommybanzai » July 02, 2007

Does anyone know if these two heads are identical (minus the valve train). MY buddy bought a JRSC for his freshly built top-bottom GSR....only to find out the SC is for a type R head.

And/or does anyone know of or have one laying around...Type R (B16 head if will work)

thanx suckas
the new and slightly improved...don't piss me off, and i won't f#*k with you!!! *gggrrrr*

I didn't get a chance to look around yet, Tom. I'll get back to you.

they're remotely identical....

type r has a little more of an agressive port and valve job, along with the said valve train.

the charger will bolt up to both just fine ... i DO have a type r head that is in fact just laying around ... but i'm not willing to part with it :)

if worst comes to worst, my buddy has an obd1 b16 long block w/ ecu he's getting rid of for like 800 bucks i think... maybe less, i'm not sure. if you're interested i can ask and/or give you his number.
