Post subject:  Ok what do I really need?

Alright guys, I have read a whole bunch of friggin forums from 7thgencivics to clubcivic. I am so friggin confused on what I need for a k20a2 swap its ridiculous. I understand the k20 is the true JDM engine and has a lil more hp. However, the k20a2 is much cheaper and with a few mods: (i.e. IPS K2 cams and 06 civic Si manifold) you can be right up there with the hp of a k20 and still under the price of one. How true is this? Here is a list of the parts that I belive I need:
-K20A2 or K20A3 (from Civic Si) Engine With:
- AC compressor
- alternator
- P/S pump or idler pulley (from Civic Si)
- wiring harness
- exhaust manifold
- keep civic cat and modify midpipe

- ECU (K-Pro?)
- Disabler
- Transmission and starter
- intermediate shaft
- Axles from either 02 Civic Si or 94 up Integra GSR or RSX with RSX knuckles and hubs
- RSX or 02 Civic Si subframe
- Hasport ESK1 bolt in mount kit - $600
- Hasport ESKWH conversion wiring harness
- RSX shifter assembly and cables
- 02 Civic Si radiator and fans (although the RSX will fit with some trimming around the radiator cap opening in the grill)
- 02 Civic Si upper and lower radiator hoses (RSX are longer and may kink)
- RSX throttle cable
- RSX fuel line, brake booster line and purge line
- RSX AC line from compressor to condensor
- RSX clutch lines from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder
- Custom AC line from compressor to evaporator (Hasport should have one available by April)
- 90 Accord negative battery cable

- If you want powersteering:
- RSX high pressure powersteering hose and return line
- 92 Civic P/S resevoir w/ bracket and a section of hydraulic hose to go from the pump to the resevoir

How hard would it be to get these things from a junkyard. Like out of theses above cars that still have their enfines? Or should I just get the things from an engine dealer? Can I start piecing it together by buying certain parts that will match up to the D17a or is there even anything that will match up with what I have now? Sorry this is so long but I am so confused and you guys are the only ones I trust now. Especially you Koto.

I'm trusting you on your list. I haven't messed with any 7th gens.

As far as getting the junkyard parts you should be fine. You'll have problems with the ecu and possibly subframe if the junkyard does full dropouts. Some of the lines may be hanging in the bay still if they dropped the motor out. Things like the throttle cable, etc. I would buy from the dealer. K20s are becoming easier and easier to come across. Actually...there's someone on here that was going K20, but aborted the mission. He might have some parts around (hondalover)

Seems like a pretty comprehensive list you got Matt, I'd take hondalover's advice about joining the k20 forums, project-specific forums like that are really useful, like when I joined miataturbo.net and started reading, there's tech advice there you won't find on such a generalized forum as this.
