The black underside is plastic, but the top, body colored part is metal. At least it was on my old 91 STD.

i checked one today & the top half was metal & so im gonna get it. so all i gotta do it take off the plastic with the light & it should fit on decently right? or do i gotta bend the spoiler some?

It probably needs to be custom fit and then welded. I don't think there's going to be a way around using a MIG and bondo.

ive got no problem with bondo & all that fun stuff. hmmm it looks like the guy who did it jsut set it on & welded it. MIG...whats that? im not up to date with the lingo

Magnesium Inert Gas, it's a type of welding. The inert gas (Argon if I remember correctly, it's been a while since welding class) keeps the metal from oxidizing (rusting) while it's a puddle. It's the most popular form of welding, IMO.
