I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

bronze window fitment issues...

Post by problem_si » December 27, 2006

Hey all...

I nabbed a set of bronze windows for my hatch a few months ago, and I finally had the time to try to put them in.

Problems... :x

So the rear windows are pretty damn close, I would just have to have a glass shop to cut them a little near the plastic molding. Even "half" in, the bronze tint looked BADASS.

Unfortunately the passenger windows dont even come close. The jdm windows come up about 1.5 inches short. Unless theres a way to stretch glass...I think I'm sunk.

I was told that these work on 88-89 civics, but not my 91. Is there ANY way to make this work???

You will probably have to get 88-89 doors......that sucks!

But at least you'll get rid of those stupid seatbelts!!!

Will 88-89 doors fit on a 91 chassis???

If so, do you have to change anything else?

You would think the window glass on the 88-89 would be bigger than the 90-91, due to the fact that the seatbelt junk isn't there.

The bronze glass is smaller than the stock 90-91 glass. Also, the edge by the B-pillar is slanted slightly with the corner cut off. Its a strange shape, and since I've never owned a 88-89 civic, I don't know if the glass is similar.

I'd really hate to buy 88-89 doors and have it still not work.

Here's the link to the ebay auction that I won the windows in...

Can anyone with a 88-89 hatch confirm that the windows in that link look like your usdm ones?

I just moved, so all my ef friends are no where close to here.

when dealing with a cr-x, the mounting points and shape of the glass changes from 88-89/90-91. all jdm doors use the same windows, which only fit in our USDM 88-89. i imagine it could be the same thing when dealing with your hatch? just a thought...
