I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Re: Idle Problems
So I switched the wires back around and started the car back up....no joy....got codes read again and they were the same ones i've been having...while I was at Autozone a guy that works at one of the local auto shops stopped and looked at the car and said that when that IACV code pops up, 95% of the time its something with the throttle body. It doesn't necessarily have to throw a code for a particular item, (i.e. TPS, MAP, etc..)....I also asked a different guy at autozone about taking that part back, he said it was no problem. So seein as how this new IACV didn't fix my issue then I am going to take this one back and put my old one back on....then get a new O2 sensor with the return money....anything else I should get? I lost the receipt so I will only get a store credit...

Re: Idle Problems
Ok so now I am officially PISSED!!!! i installed the new O2 Sensor...started the car and low and behold I got a code. I am not sure what it is....thats not what I am pissed about...What i am pissed about is the fact that, some how some totally jacked up way there is a coolant leak on one of my hoses that cool my turbo....This is new....dont know how it happened....so there is no driving it to AutoZone to see what the code is...I went down to a local hose shop and had a hose made for the coolant line. Fearing that mayne I somehow blew a HG, I went out and checked my oil...it was good...got the new hose on there and noticed that the IACV wire was unplugged *points to himself* DUMBASS....I reset the codes and started it back up...the car surged again, but this time it was more of a slow surge, much slower....so with that said, the surge happens when the old IACV is hooked up... sooo...that tells me that I need a new IACV...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, roflh....
I drove the car this morning to the gym and didn't boost....(because my boost guage and the vac line for my BOV were unhooked)....the car drove pretty nice...no bucking....Never really came to a stop until I got to the gym....I hooked the lines back up so I can boost now, I have all the lines going to a 3 way T into the line that comes off that solenoid Josh and I talked about. I will see if I can get a vac block and hook it into my vac line for the Master Cylinder....I will drive it to work today and see how it goes....when I get back from our Patrol I will check the codes....

Re: Idle Problems
LOL!! You mean the IACV that you just returned? Well, I guess I was partially right about the IACV after all, AND the o2 sensor!!
Note to Matt (Not you Matt W.), when you have a CEL, fix it asap! An ounce of maintenance is worth a pound of repairs.
*crosses fingers* Hopefully now that you got a new o2 sensor, once you replace the IACV everything will be good! I know it will be a relief for you, and i'll be able to stop eating Tylenol like its candy, because your car makes my head hurt. LOL! I hate virtual problems. (Which this basically is to me since I can't physically see or touch anything).

Re: Idle Problems
ok, so I really don't want to post this cause I know as soon as I do, my problem will return....went to AutoZone and had my codes read again....O2 sensor high voltage and Idle Cont Malfunction....I went back and forth with the guy who was helping me out and he made me realize that a High voltage O2 sensor means that the exhaust is to hot....why would exhaust be to hot i asked my self....well, fuel is a cooling agent, it cools your exhaust, if you injectors aren't putting out enough fuel then you will get not only and idle problem but your exhaust temps will be too high. So, I thought about what could be causing this issue...fuel pump...no, fuel pump is rated at 45 gpm...that's plenty IMO, Injectors maybe failed....not big enough fuel rail, no, the fuel rail was on there when the car ran good...hmmmm....I left the store....went and got gas...while I was at the gas station I thought, maybe, just maybe the injectors need to be cleaned...so I bought some gumout....Sure enough, I put it in, started the car, the car idled...perfectly....drove home, stop sign...surely this thing will start surging again, nope, 850ish....next stop sign, 850ish....took it down the road and boosted through 4th....no bucking while just cruising, HELL YES!!! red light, Idle, 850ish....Boosted through 4th again, cruised, no bucking....drove home, sat in driveway, idle, you guessed it 850ish....turned on turbo timer, let it run 30 secs....no surge, car shut off....now to clear the codes and see what happens next....

::knock on wood::
Hope it holds steady for you man (like I told you earlier).
BTW - Fuel is a cooling agent, you're right about that, but just for semantics I'm going to talk about your EGT logic. Rich mixtures generally lead to cooler EGTs, lean to higher EGTs. High EGTs can also come from super-retardedly-rich mixture (not all the fuel is burned in cylinder, so burns in exhaust) or from too-retarded ignition timing (mixture not fully burned, burns in exhaust). Just FYI.

Re: Idle Problems
that would explain the fact that for a while (before i fixed the issue) I could hold my hand on the exhaust pipe and it wouldn't burn my hand, in fact it was cold...car was warm of course...
