Type R Shift Boot

I was wondering if anyone knew if a shift boot for any year Honda/Acura would fit my 04 Civic Ex. Or if i have to find one specifically for the 01-04 models?

i imagine u can pull the metal surround off a 96-00 boot and fit it in your car. i never seen the shift console in a new one so i wouldnt know for sure.

im thinking that if i have just the boot without metal, i can just replace boots and wrap the Type R around the metal inside. i duno?

probably take yours off first and see how it works then check out a 96-00
