best low light camcorder?

im in the market for a new camcorder and i want something i will be able to use eventually with my haunt to document and record it. im looking for something that i can shoot with very low light. i have an old sony with night shot that works, but its dated and such a hassle to transfer video to the computer. its an old hi8.

sony nightshot is good and if need be i will buy another sony with nighshot, but if i could find something that can shoot in very low light w/o nightshot and still give me a good visible image i might consider as well.

i know a bunch of video editing might be in store for me afterwards but thats not a problem.

feedback would be fantastic, and some video (youtube, vimeo, etc.) would also be fantastic.

as for the price... i dont need nothing professional, just a nice camcorder that will shoot in low light. possibly something thats upgradeable as far as mics & lenses might also be a bonus but not very important. as for as the media, im looking for something with a hard drive. that will probably be the easiest to work with as far as putting it on the computer.
