what camera is everyone rocking

nah, ive never used a DSLR before. and the D70 and 20D are waaayyy too much compared to the 300D. eventually ill sell it and upgrade but for now, i need a beginners DSLR.

i use a canon 20d with a sigma 18-50mm lens. Its a great camera

I would say that the d70 is a much better camera than the canon rebel, Don't know what kind of prices they are over in america but here in the UK they are similar priced,

i don't know what a 70D is, but the nikon d70 is comparable to the canon 10d/20d.

yes, both are more money than a rebel.

but they are both better overall cameras than the rebel.

the easiest way to find the right camera for you, however, is to go to a local camera shop. not best buy, circuit city, etc., but a mom & pop camera shop. without discussing pricing, let them know what you're looking to do with it, how serious you're going to be with it, etc etc. AFTER they have made some recommendations, feel free to discuss price. but everyone is different with it, so it's hard to just go by suggestions online.
