I'm Backkkkkkkkk! Hey people, what's up? I hope you all didn't miss me too much now. Hurricane Wilma slashed through South FL and tore it apart. I just got my power back on yesterday early morning. Half of Miami is still in the dark and curfews are in effect from 8pm-6am this week. Gas lines have been absolutely ridiculous. People have been waiting in lines for 6 hours just to get gas....not only for their cars but for their generators and gas stations have put up a $20 limit on people. There's been a lot of fights getting started in lines, people drawing up their guns, etc....it was really really bad here, after wilma..esp. the 2 days after the storm. I'm not sure what the media has been reporting but this was not an ordinary category 3 storm. The representatives from the electric company (FPL) have been saying that a cat. 3 hurricane cannot do this much damage...either there were a lot of tornados or wind speeds incrreased dramtically ...so I guess we'll find out in a couple of months when the hurricane center does the investigation.
Nobdy down here did expected all of this damage. Schools have been closed this entire week and now their saying that they don't even know if they will be able to open up on Monday due to all the damage. Things are slowly getting back to normal though. Gas lines are still very long but grocery stores are beginning to open up and food deliveries are being made.
My house did the best in my neighborhood. Only 2 shingles came off my roof, front gate before the main front door tore apart, and one of the shields came off the a/c compressor. Other homes in my area have a lot of roof damage, broken windows, etc.
My car also did the best @ my house...my parent's cars and my sister's cars are all dented up. Mine are only scrapes on the pillar and door and the driver's side japanese window visor broke off and one of the clips on the the passenger window visor broke off.
I'm still trying to get a hold of some more visors...there not as easy to find like the civics and tegs....but from this little damage, I'll still be able to make it to HIN Miami in Dec.
So as soon as my cable connection gets up and running..I'll be posting again (56k dial up suckS)!
here are some some pics..
Completely dark, wind speeds were recorded @ 110mph in my area.

Shingles being torn apart on the roofs..

driver's side window visor missing....those leaves were in every nook and cranny of the car, between bumper lights, hedlights, grill, etc.

Found the visor...

I have these scrapes all over the pillar and the driver's side door
